“Universal” anti-backup roof drain is one of
the best means of connecting a roof systems for rainwater
pipes on flat roofs, gutters of various pitch, compluvia
of industrial sheds and industrial buildings. It is particularly
suitable for application with all kinds bituminous membranes
APP SBS and spread bitumen.
“Universal” anti-backup roof drain is made out
of IGOM, a compound of synthetic rubber specially designed
to obtain physical and technical properties for a flexible
product, IGOM has high resistance to ultra violet rays,
ozone and other atmospheric and chemical agents.
It can be used in a wide temperature range as it is extremely
flexible at low temperatures and stable over a long time
thanks to its physical and mechanical properties. Materials
which therefore assure maximum performance through out
its life span.
The unit consists of a slightly conical cylinder with
a wide base giving an ample anchorage to its ribbed surface
for the membrane.
The conical cylinder is fitted with one or two round flanges
which, when pushed solidly home into the pipe, ensure
that there is no backing up of the water as these form
a perfect seal with the inner surface of the pipe itself.
This therefore avoids also the passage of water vapour
and water backing up into insulation materials or under
the waterproofing membranes causing serious damage.
